Back on September 5th last week, as you know, Nokia and Microsoft revealed the Lumia 920 and 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphones that morning. In the evening a party was held where anyone could attend if they had pre-registered on Facebook. Aaron Hall was so excited to see the new Nokia devices in New York City that he RSVP’d right away. The only problem is that he lives in Youngstown, Ohio which is a little more than 400 miles away from where the New York City party was held.
Aaron took the day off from work as a system administrator (for which he had been working 7 days/week since Memorial Day), left Ohio at 3 AM that day, and drove about 7 hours to New York City for the Nokia party which didn’t start until 6pm. He was actually waiting outside while the morning’s announcement with Steve Ballmer, Stephen Elop, Joe Belfiore and company was finishing up. Nokia was a little surprised to see that one of their fans had come from so far and so early to see the new phones, but they helped him out by buying him lunch, getting him a chair, and giving him a nice Nokia Play 360° Wireless Speaker system and a Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster that he’ll be able to use with the red Lumia 920 that he’s hoping to buy when it becomes available.
