Nokia announced the Lumia 920 without giving us a very good idea of when to expect the handset to arrive. Part of that might be due to Windows Phone 8 itself, as we’ve heard rumors that Microsoft’s been fighting to reach its end-of-October target for the platform’s launch. A new rumor, though, claims that the 920 could arrive quite a bit earlier than anyone else had been suggesting.
Last week, the word on the street was that November 2 would be a likely release date for the 920 on AT&T, with international launches occurring throughout the rest of the month. Today, BGR has learned through a “trusted source” that AT&T will start selling the phone nearly two weeks earlier, all the way back on October 21.
That would be quite the feat, but considering how WP8 itself hasn’t been expected until closer to October 29, we’re not quite sure how much weight to lend to the rumor.
In addition to the Lumia 920, the source also claims that AT&T will start selling Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 on October 21, as well.
