September’s already been off to a great start, with smartphone announcements from some of the industry’s biggest players. There’s more in store for us soon, like HTC’s press event scheduled for September 19. That’s turning out to be a busy day, as LG just issued its own invites for a smartphone event taking place the very same day.
What might LG have to share? The company’s been teasing its Optimus G a lot lately, which is looking to be quite the powerhouse. It’s already been officially announced, but LG might be hoping to specifically promote the phone’s launch on US carriers. It will have a 4.7-inch 720p display, a solid 2GB of RAM, and a big 13-megapixel sensor for its main camera.
The mention of Qualcomm here on the invite also makes us think we’re talking about the Optimus G, as it will feature one of the company’s new quad-core Snapdragon S4 chips, which promise to be absolute beasts. LG’s not had the best luck in the market lately, and a really impressive piece of hardware might be just what it needs to shake off some of the cobwebs and get back in the game.
Check back with us next week for the full story on what LG has to share.
