Apple is trying to distance itself from Google and, aside from ditching Google Maps for its own mapping solution, it has also removed the YouTube app from iOS 6 Beta 4, a pretty good indication that it will be left out in the final version of iOS 6. However, since YouTube is such a strong video sharing community, the folks over at Google just announced its brand new, stand-along application for the iPhone.
The app is built in such manner that it will offer “the best mobile experience”. Unfortunately the application is not designed for the high resolution of the iPad, even though it will work once you inflate it. An optimized iPad flavor should land in the App Store in the coming months so until then you’re either stuck with the new iPhone app or you will have to refrain from updating to iOS 6.
