When it comes to phone and tablet accessories, we often find ourselves choosing between some high-quality gear from the manufacturer that’s tailored to one specific model or another, or universal accessories from third-party companies which, while they may be just fine, can be more of a crapshoot. That’s why we’re intrigued to see one of Motorola’s latest offerings, which seems to skirt the boundaries of both categories.
The compact little stand will hold a smartphone upright in either portrait or landscape orientations, and will just as easily support a tablet. It comes with a micro USB cable for charging your device, so while this is promoted as being for Android hardware, will work with Windows Phone devices in a pinch.
The one thing that would have made this really great would have been if it folded flat for a little more convenient travel, but it seems just right for leaving around your home or office. Right now it’s retailing for about $40, which may be a little steep, but there’s always the chance we’ll see that come down a bit.
