As you may already know, Nokia announced two new Windows Phone 8 devices this morning; the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. We got our first real-life in-person look at the two devices today as well. Check out the video below to see a few demos of both the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 with a special guest appearance by Windows Phone celebrity Ben Rudolph.

The main announcement revolved around the Nokia Lumia 920 with its “PureView” optical image stabilization camera. It’s not the 41 megapixel “PureView” camera that we know from the Nokia 808, but “PureView” isn’t supposed to be about megapixels, but rather the imaging experience. The image stabilization is done by floating the whole camera element within the body and using a gyroscope to stabilize it physically. This allows for much longer shutter speeds in order to get more light into the lens while still getting a sharp photo.

Joe Belfiore was on hand to demonstrate only a few of the new things in Windows Phone 8. He really only showed us the usual start screen enhancements as well as some of the great new camera lens apps that are especially relevant to the Nokia devices.
Both Stephen Elop and Steve Ballmer were on hand to announce these two new Nokia Windows Phone 8′s.
