Sony announced its new Xperia lineup of Androids at the IFA last week, including the Xperia T. We took a hands-on look at the Tx, the T’s sister phone with much of the same hardware, but didn’t have much in the way of info on how these new Xperias would be coming to US shores. That picture is just starting to come together now, upon the arrival of an image showing the Xperia T with AT&T badging.
Retailer Phones4U recently put up some pics on its site showing-off the international Xperia T, but mixed-in with those is one that clearly shows the phone bearing AT&T’s logo. It isn’t always easy to find Sony phones on the major US carriers, so word that AT&T will be featuring the Xperia T is good news for fans of the manufacturer.
There do appear to be some small changes between the AT&T Xperia T and its international variant, but the true extent is still unknown. We can see that the phone’s rear panel for AT&T has some seams that are missing from the international edition; current speculation suggests that they could be the result of hardware changes to support AT&T’s LTE network, but we can’t say with any certainty.
