A little earlier today, we mentioned the news that a new update for the Samsung Galaxy S II on T-Mobile seemed to imply that Isis NFC-based mobile payments would soon be available to the smartphone’s users. Now we have a few more details to add, including just when the service will go up, where it will be available, and what other phones will work.

Back in February, we heard that the first-wave launch would be in Salt Lake City, UT, and Austin, TX. That was supposed to take place sometime this summer, but we didn’t know quite when. It’s now been confirmed that those two are still the launch cities, and Isis will be up-and-running there during the month of September.

As for phones, a MasterCard document names a few handsets that it’s approved for use with Isis. Beyond the GS2 on T-Mobile, the GS3 and HTC Amaze 4G will also be supported. On AT&T, there will be the GS3 again, as well as the HTC One X. Verizon has the GS3 and also the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE.
