We’ve recently heard and appreciated Motorola’s effort to unlock phone bootloaders via its web page even though the only supported devices at the moment are the Photon Q 4G, RAZR Developer Edition, XOOM and XOOM WiFi. Everyone wished more phones will be added in the future but Motorola has some bad news for us (in the shape of no good news, a matter of perspective, really).
Answering a legit question on Twitter (a Motorola phone owner wanted to know whether previous devices will be getting the same treatment) Motorola said that, simply, “that is not currently in the plan”.
Droid 3, Bionic, X2 and other older Motorola phone owners now need to wish for Motorola’s plans to include them in the bootloader unlock project. We’ll help you with our fingers crossed!
