Facebook Gets Faster For iOS With Latest Update

Overnight, we brought you news of the latest update to Facebook’s app for Android devices. Android isn’t alone in getting a new version of the app, as Facebook has just announced updates for the iPhone and iPad that will deliver some improvements of their own.

This release is all about speed; you should noticed the improvement straight out the gate when launching the app and seeing it load so much quicker. Those improvements extend to loading your friends’ latest updates faster than ever before, as well as opening full-screen view for photos. Overall, Facebook claims that this version 5.0 runs twice as fast as previous releases. You’ll also see a new banner display in your news feed, letting you quickly access stories as they’re posted.

Facebook 5.0 is already available for download in Apple’s App Store.
