Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Coming August 29: Report

We know that there will be an Unpacked event in Berlin, prior to the IFA, on August 29. We are expecting the Galaxy Note II but will this be the only thing announced there? According to recent reports, the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III will be pushed out following that event.

We’ve seen the official, in different stages, being leaked on the Internet, which means that it is in final development stages. According to recent reports, the refresh will be rolled-out “shortly after” the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event next Wednesday. It will not only bring the latest Google platform together with Google Now and all the goodies but also an improved TouchWiz user interface with new features, like “dormant mode” — to improve notifications — and an “easy mode” for home screen operations.

The regions will include the U.K. and several other countries but there is no word on U.S. and Canada. Given the fact that the phone wasn’t that late to the show on these markets it is safe to assume that the Snapdragon variants’ update will follow shortly after.
