The rumors so far indicate that the connector dock on the new iPhone, slated for an alleged September 12 unveiling, will indeed be smaller than the one we’re currently seeing on iPhones (probably even smaller than 19-pin?). A recent report just surfaced according to which the official Apple Store might have accidentally leaked a certain Dock to Mini Dock connector.
While definitely credible, the report can also be a good quality fake. However, if we are to believe that this will be the official converter dock, it not only confirms the smaller connector on the iPhone but also sheds some light on its price: $9.99. It appears in two colors: black and white, to go with the official iPhone colors.
The interesting part is that the devices listed as being compatible with the new connector dock are the new iPhone, new iPod Touch and Nano as well as a late 2012 iPad. If you check out the image below, the late 2012 iPad seems to be both a 9.7-inch and a Mini iPad, something we’ve been hearing for quite some time.. Also, watch closely and you can see a taller shape of the iPhone, one that hints towards a wide-screen display, as rumored.
Of course, the reported link is no longer working. However, you can check out the alleged screenshots below, as well as some more at the source link below. Let us know what you think!
Update: It appears that everything we’re seeing above is fake.
