The rumors concerning a Facebook phone are more and more frequent, with the latest coming from Bloomberg, quoting unnamed sources close to the matter that believed HTC would be building the Facebook phone for next year.
While on an earnings call, Mark Zuckerberg was asked about rumors of a Facebook phone. He said “building out a whole phone really wouldn’t make much sense for us to do”. Plan and simple! It is the first official confirmation of Facebook not planning on a Facebook phone, as in hardware. However, Facebook could very well add its social features to existing hardware. Those of you who dreamed about a Facebook phone (all three of you) with a nice “F”-logo on its back will be disappointed, but the CEO is not interested.
