Everyone found something to be excited about at this year’s Google I/O and while you and me were probably happy to see the new Android 4.1 and its Project Butter, developers of applications like SoundHound and Shazam were probably “happy” to see the new “Google Ears” or Google Sound Search offering.
It listens to your songs and identifies them, plain and simple. You don’t have to wait for a Jelly Bean ROM to land, you can now grab the APK which will install the widget. Place it on one of your home screens, tap when you want to identify a song and it does the job. It will also take you to the Play store so that you can buy it. There’s no need for a third party (ad-packed or commercial) application, even if that application can do some other stuff, like share on your Facebook, show recommendations, etc. Grab it from the link below.
