It was one-and-a-half months ago when HTC announced the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, arriving at Verizon “in the coming weeks”. Well, those weeks are quickly turning into months, and the latest DI4GL rumors put the phone’s release still another two weeks out.
Once it became clear that the handset wasn’t going to see retail shelves by the end of May, we grew concerned at its now-diminishing prospects, facing arrival under the shadow of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Just as the GS3 saw its own small launch delays, the DI4GL seems to keep being pushed back, with the most current guess for its release date landing on July 5.
Last we heard, after seeing pictures of Verizon retail promotional material featuring the phone nearly two weeks ago, June 21 was a potential release date, but that clearly hasn’t come to pass.
Even this new July 5 date doesn’t arrive with much confidence, and though it’s a likely candidate, being a Thursday and all, it sounds like the only thing anyone close to the situation seems to know is that it’s just going to be “later”. For HTC’s sake, we hope the model really does make it out in early July.
Have those of you who have been looking forward to the DI4GL’s arrival managed to keep the faith despite these ongoing delays, or have you succumbed to another model’s temptation?
