We’ve been expecting HTC and Verizon to deliver an Ice Cream Sandwich update to the Rezound in the very near future. The phone shows up on the manufacturer’s list of upcoming ICS updates as supposed to get its update in June or July, and last week we got to see a newly leaked ICS build that seemed like it might be the final revision. Today, HTC updates its own support page for the phone to reflect the availability of that very same 3.14.605.10 710RD build, but where is it?
HTC’s software updates page for the Rezound gives today’s date for the availability of this new release, but we’ve yet to hear of any Verizon subscribers being able to access it. According to HTC, they should be seeing notifications for the OTA update when checking for new software, but it seems like this heads-up might be a little premature.
Verizon’s own software update page for the Rezound hasn’t been touched since January, with no similar indication that a new release is available today.
So, what gives? Did Verizon forget that the update’s supposed to arrive today? Was it HTC that jumped the gun and published its info too early? Maybe we’ll see those update notifications start arriving later tonight, just getting a late start. In the worst-case scenario, we’ll just have to keep waiting a little longer.
