Tired of waiting passively for news of the latest smartphones to arrive? Wish that you could be doing something to contribute to the process, or at least help speed things along? Sony is calling for its fans to assist with the reveal of the company’s next Xperia handset, currently set to be announced in ten days.
Over on Sony’s Facebook page, it’s counting-down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until it will show us the next Xperia model. While we could all just sit back and wait for that news to drop on its own, Sony’s giving us the opportunity to cheat a little and move the time on its clock forward a bit, bringing us even closer to the phone’s announcement. Once a day, you can click on the fast-forward button to help make a small difference, and if enough Android fans join you, we might just get to hear about this new Xperia a couple days early.
Sure, this is a pretty meaningless gesture in the grand scheme of things, as Sony’s going to make its announcement one way or another, but it’s still a nice little gesture to help make the company’s smartphone users feel a little more involved. Will you be joining the effort and clicking away, or kicking up your heels and just waiting until next week to learn what Sony has to share?
