A Look at a Few iPhone Games on a Windows 8 Tablet

Since the Windows 8 Release Preview came out, the gaming scene on Windows 8 tablets has changed a bit. We see a few more iPhone style touch-screen games appearing in the Windows 8 Marketplace. In this video we’re going to take a quick look at “Doodle God”, “Cut the Rope”, and “Fruit Ninja”. None of these games are Xbox LIVE enabled just yet, but they do have live tiles on the Start screen. Most of the live tiles show some sort of current score information and sometimes a bit of animation. One issue you’ll notice, especially with Fruit Ninja is that when you’re swiping around on the screen with your finger, if you swipe too close to the bezel, you’re very likely to activate one of the Windows 8 swipe gestures which may switch applications, show the charms, or more the window a bit. This accidental gesture will only pause your game in most cases, but it still has the potential to be pretty annoying.
