Samsung Galaxy S III vs. iPhone 4S (Video)

The Samsung Galaxy S III and the iPhone 4S are very different phones. On paper, the Galaxy S III has a stronger spec sheet: it has a larger, higher resolution display, a larger battery, and it has a quad core CPU (if we’re talking about the international variant of the device). On the other hand, the iPhone 4S is without question one of the best-selling smartphones of all time, thanks in part to its handsome design (which is really starting to feel dated), great performance, and awesome camera. We’re also at a strange point in the release cycle: Samsung’s Galaxy S III is the company’s preemptive answer to the iPhone 4S. And Apple, likely to announce iOS 6 next week, and new iPhone hardware in the coming months, is on the verge of showing the world its next best thing. So which is better today?

That’s tough to say. In this video, we compare the Galaxy S III with the iPhone 4S and contrast their ability to quickly launch apps, browse the web, boot up, play games, and more. We also show you how the 1080p video capture compares between the two devices, since photo and video quality is increasingly important as we leave the point-and-shoot at home.
