Goggle’s not the only game in town with an update for a social networking app today. Windows Phone users can now check out the latest edition of their platform’s Facebook app, with Microsoft just releasing version 2.5.
There are quite a few changes waiting for you in Facebook 2.5. Keeping track of Facebook messages should get a whole lot easier, upon the introduction of full-threaded conversations. That will work with both one-on-one and group messaging. Tagging options give you new ways to include your friends in posts and status updates, and you’ll now have the ability to “like” comments straight from the app.
There are a few interface changes, like the ability to delete posts and comments following a long press, and the layout of photo comments pages has been updated to more closely match the comments page that posts use.
Initial reports from users are a mixed bag, with some noting improved app performance at the expense of slower load times.
Facebook 2.5 is available in the Windows Phone Marketplace now. Don’t forget that with the latest Marketplace changes, you’ll need to be running Windows Phone 7.5 in order to continue accessing it.
