Its not unusual for root to be achieved for a device before it’s actual in-store or carrier availability but this time we’re talking about the most anticipated Android smartphone of the year so far, the Samsung Galaxy S III. Lucky owners will get the phone on May 29 with the rest following one day after (for the International version) and if they’re power users they will be able to root the device the moment they receive it.
When you get your Galaxy S III (we know you can’t wait) head over to the source link to learn more about root. While you’re waiting patiently for the Samsung flagship you might want to take a look at the official stock firmware which just got leaked. It is version I9300XXALE8 and, of course, for the carrier-free international unlocked Galaxy S III. It contains Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung’s brand new TouchWiz Nature UX user interface on top of it plus all the goodies we’ve seen and heard about. Fingers someone manages to port some bits over to other devices so we can all enjoy!
