The HTC EVO 4G LTE should have been on shelves today, May 18, but thanks to an ITC ruling banning imports of HTC devices as of April 19 there are some delays thanks to U.S. Customs who are taking their job (and the ruling) seriously (as one would expect). There was a ray of light however which might have gotten your hopes up yesterday: Best Buy sent out a letter letting people know that the HTC EVO 4G LTE should be available as of May 23.
Today Best Buy is taking your hopes and scatters them away. According to a new letter being sent out, the previous one contained incorrect information regarding the availability. “The release date has changed, but we do not know the new release date yet”, says the wording as you can see in the attached screenshot. They are currently waiting for Sprint to announce something specific (and so are we plus a lot of HTC fans) which could happen any time now given the recent court order calling for settlement in the Apple Vs. HTC case that caused the delays in the first place.
