Three weeks ago, we saw Samsung publish a list of just which of its Android devices would be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich updates arrive in the US. We already had our suspicions that many of those devices would be getting ICS thanks to news about updates for their international versions, and others we had already seen confirmed by the carriers themselves. Still, it was good to see confirmation in those cases where we previously lacked it, as well as get the chance to see the status of all these Samsung models in a nice carrier-by-carrier breakdown. At least, that’s largely what we got, but at the time Samsung wasn’t able to release information on the fate of its Androids for T-Mobile. Today, Samsung finally has that info ready for us, completing the picture of its ICS updates for the major carriers.
We haven’t heard anything from Samsung about why it took so much longer to publish that info for T-Mobile devices, nor if that delay will translate into a similarly delayed release schedule for the arrival of the updates themselves. Like the rest of the Samsung models from its list, the manufacturer doesn’t have anything specific to say about ETAs for these updates, suffice it to say that it’s working to see that everything goes “as quickly and as smoothly as possible”.
