Google+ Gets Overhauled For iOS, Android Update Coming Soon

It wasn’t that long ago that we were telling you about the latest Google+ version for iOS playing some catch-up to the Android and even the mobile web edition of the service. While that may have given some iOS users the impression that they’d always be playing second fiddle to Android users when it comes to Google updates, today the tides show signs of turning, and Apple fans will be the first to have the opportunity to enjoy Google’s latest Google+ refresh, introducing a new look for the app’s iOS edition.

As Google tells it, this update is all about making Google+ look better, respond more intuitively, and just be more fun to use. To that end, Google’s tweaking the app’s appearance with things as subtle as sharper fonts, as well as introducing visual cues to make the app’s behavior feel more natural to the user. Overall, though, the effect of these changes amounts to a pronounced change from the app’s earlier appearance, and one Google’s hoping is for the better.

Google promises the Android version of the new Google+ will be ready to go in just a few weeks, and it will include some extra treats not present here in the iOS release.
