EVO 4G LTE Pre-Order Follow-Ups Seem To Confirm Rumored Launch

As if HTC’s One XL didn’t already have enough going for it, with a Snapdragon S4 under the hood, big 4.7-inch display, and Sense 4.0, Sprint had to go ahead and announce its own XL with even more tweaks, set to arrive as the EVO 4G LTE. While Sprint has yet to officially reveal just when the EVO 4G LTE will land in the hands of customers, there have been plenty of rumors attempting to nail that date down. First sometime in early June sounded like the most likely outcome, but more recent suggestions have been placing the date a little earlier, perhaps even as soon as May 18. That’s now looking like it could be a sure thing, at least according to the emails reportedly going out to customers who pre-ordered the handset.

According to these emails, Sprint intends to begin shipping the EVO 4G LTE to subscribers with pre-orders on May 15, with expectations that delivery will take one to three business days. Even if that window’s a little loose, it lines-up quite nicely with those earlier claims of May 18 availability for the Android. So, while we’ve yet to see any leaks from Sprint stores indicating that they’re getting ready to see this model arrive, the smart money’s on this HTC handset showing up at retail right around May 18, as well.

The EVO 4G LTE will run you just about $200 on a two-year contract.
