We’ve heard a lot about Intel’s Medfield chip in the last months and now the world’s first Intel chip-based smartphone has been launched in India. It goes for Rs 22,000 (around $445).

Powering everything is an Intel Medfield chipset with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor with Hyper Threading, 400 MHz graphics core, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, four-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, eight-megapixel main camera, one-megapixel front-facer and Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich). Those who live in India can grab it on April 23 from Croma or Xolo website; retail chains get it in early May.
