Microsoft evangelist Nuno Silva shared his thoughts regarding a possible upgrade to the next major Windows Phone release (codenamed Apollo) for all Windows Phone devices. Now reports are coming in claiming the exact contrary of those stated by the developer evangelist.

According to reports, there will be no upgrade path from Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) to Apollo. The information comes from “a trusted source close to Microsoft” who unveiled to The Verge that users currently rocking a Windows Phone will be left in the dark once the next iteration of the platform lands. This is definitely bad news for all Windows Phone users if the report turns out to be true and especially for those who just bought a new device, like the Lumia 900 or Titan II.
