Sony Now Delivering ICS to Xperia Arc S, Neo V, and Ray
Right at the end of last month, Sony spoke-up regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich updates that had been scheduled for some of last year’s Xperia models. We had been expecting to see them released before the end of March, but Sony ended up having to let us know that there would be a short delay. The best it would offer about just when the updates would eventually arrive was sometime around mid-April. It looks like that estimation was right on-schedule, as today Sony announced that ICS updates are starting to become available for the Xperia Arc S, Neo V, and Ray.
Sony fans in Scandinavia will be the first to get their hands on these updates, with availability starting in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Norway. It will probably take Sony a little over a month to target all those users. Obviously, Sony’s planning a global roll-out as well, but it hasn’t provided details on just when users in other markets could hope to see ICS arrive.
Next up for Sony are Android 4.0 updates for its Xperia Arc, Play, Neo, Mini, Mini Pro, Pro, Active, and the Live with Walkman handset. Look for those in late May or early June, assuming there aren’t any more delays in Sony’s future.
