Lumia 900 Data Connectivity Fix Ready Early, Available Now

We had some pretty high expectations for Nokia’s Lumia 900, and much to the manufacturer’s credit, the phone largely delivered. That said, things weren’t perfect, and a pretty embarrassing problem with the phone quickly came to light. Nokia had shipped the phone with some software in place that was creating a problem with the handset’s memory management, a problem that would manifest itself as a loss of data connectivity. A couple days ago, we heard from Nokia that it was fast-tracking an update to fix this issue, and users could hope to see it arrive sometime around next Monday. The good news is that owners won’t have to put up with another weekend full of the problems brought on by this bug, as Nokia has just released the promised update a few days early.

We haven’t heard about any slow roll-out for this fix, so if you’ve got a Lumia 900, go ahead and hook it up to Zune to get started installing the latest system software on your phone. If you had been running into these data issues before, we’d love to hear if this update resolves them for you.
