New iPad Keeps Charging Up To One Hour After Reported Full
We already heard that Apple needed to increase the battery on the New iPad in order to maintain the relatively same battery life as with the iPad 2. A 11,666mAh pack allows the around ten hours of battery life despite the new CPU, GPU, radios, screen and camera.
According to Dr. Raymond M. Soneira of DisplayMate, the battery on the New iPad does “not actually reach full charge when 100% is shown and need up to an extra hour before the charging actually stops”. He claims that absolute 100% is reached around the one hour mark beyond the reported 100% level in the screen. “Other tablets and smartphones also lie about their charging status, so if getting maximum battery run time is crucial, people need to keep their devices recharging for longer than the screen claims”.
