Nokia Releases ‘Play To’ DLNA Software For Lumia Windows Phones

Back in the day when we reviewed the LG Optimus 7, one of the Windows Phone 7 launch devices, we took a closer look at the “Play To” DLNA application which since has been renamed by the manufacturer to SmartShare.

However, Nokia is now releasing a Beta of a similar app, called “Play To”, for Lumia Windows Phones. The principle is the very same: you can display pictures and videos on DLNA-capable devices over WiFi, if you are on the same network. These can be TV sets, BlueRay players, or a computer running Windows 7 for instance. Future releases will most definitely include Music streaming support too, just like LG’s iteration does.
