March 14 was a day to remember for many Samsung Galaxy S II owners as the official Ice Cream Sandwich update roll-out process was started in some regions. While users are patiently waiting for their devices to receive the refresh, the manufacturer has just released the source code.

You can either follow the source link to the Samsung Open Source Release Center and search for “GT-i9100” or click the direct link below. You’ll be able to download the Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich kernel source and take a look under the hood. If you’re not into that you can sit back and wait for the community to start delivering some nice custom ROMs based on the (now public) source.
