Audible App Coming to Windows Phone

Advertisement has been the place for mobile audio books for about 10 years or so. I remember back when Microsoft’s Pocket PC 2002 original smartphone operating system actually included an eBook Reader that doubled as an Audible audio book player. You could sync audio books to your device, add bookmarks, and pick up where you left off whenever you had time to listen some more. Now, Audible is working on an app for Windows Phone to bring those great audio books back to the platform. Paul Thurrott has posted a number of screenshots of the pre-release version of the Audible app. It looks like it will have an integrated store front as well, so you should easily be able to purchase and download audio books straight to your device.

Have you ever used audio books on your smartphone? What do you think of Audible’s new Windows Phone app?
