“Tango” Was Just a Codename for Engineering Work

There seems to be a lot of hype over when “Tango” will be released with new features for current Windows Phones as well as new support for low-end emerging-market Windows Phones. Microsoft’s PR firm told us that these updates are still called “Windows Phone 7.5”. There is no new name. Yes it is an update that you could call a “refresh” and there will be higher build numbers, but it’s still going to be called “Windows Phone 7.5” The “Tango” name was just a code name for the engineering work that was contributed to the minor update. Reports of a “Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh” name change are inaccurate.
