Nokia Windows 8 Tablet Coming In Q4: Report

I think we can all agree to the fact that Windows Phone 8, as the leaked info teases, will be the next big thing for mobile phones if Microsoft does it right. However, Windows 8 will also be a next big thing which should interest us in terms of tablets.

The Redmond-based company is preparing to bring its full-fledged operating system to tablets, with a twist of Metro borrowed from Windows Phone 7. According to recent reports, Nokia will be releasing a Windows 8-based tablet around the end of the year. It will be powered allegedly by a dual-core Qualcomm processor and will have a ten-inch screen; Compal will be the one assembling the device and “sources” talk about a first batch of around 200,000 units.

It will be interesting to see how Microsoft will enter the tablet market, which is being dominated by Apple and Google, pretty much like the smartphone market. If Windows Phone 7 didn’t manage to grab a large enough slice from the user base more than one year after the launch, Microsoft will probably try its best once again with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.
