Lumia 719 Certified In China, China Mobile Confirms WP7 Device
When the Nokia Lumia 719 surfaced in Bluetooth certification documents ahead of the MWC, everyone expected it to be a new device from the Finnish manufacturer. We suspected it to be a variant of some sort for the Lumia 710 and it turns out that it is just that. SRRC, the Chinese radio management commission has listed the Lumia 719C, as per the screenshot above, which means that the phone will be heading to China Telecom’s CDMA2000 network. This falls nicely into place with previous rumors, but this time concerning a certain 800C to arrive on the carrier sometime this month. Which will be the first one (or they’ll land simultaneously) is yet to be confirmed.
On the same note, China Mobile, the country’s largest mobile carrier said it was ready for a 3G-enabled Windows Phone 7 device on its line-up. However, it is yet unknown whether it will be a Nokia, HTC, ZTE, or LG device. Pan Zhiyong, general manager of China Mobile Guangzhou branch, announced that there should be an imminent Windows Phone launch on the carrier’s 3G TD-SCDMA, but didn’t give out more details.
Microsoft and its partners, with the help of Windows Phone Tango, if properly play their cards in the world’s largest mobile market, can significantly increase their exposure and manage to sell volumes in a short time.
