Dodonpachi Maximum for Windows Phone Preview

This week’s new Xbox LIVE game comes out Wednesday March 7th and it’s called Dodonpachi Maximum. This is another vertical scrolling two dimensional spaceship shooting game. You use your finger to control the movement of your ship while it auto-shoots lasers and bullets at the enemies. Tapping the screen with two fingers will fire off a laser bomb which will clear everything on the screen and make you invincible for a little while. The game is very similar to Bullet Asylum in terms of game play, but the graphics are very very different. Dodonpachi Maximum seems to have a bit of an old-school arcade style to it and I kind of like it. There’s also a lot going on during game play. You’ve got your own bullets shooting out, bullets coming at you from enemies and score stars flying towards your ship all while flying down a speedy corridor.

Dodonpachi Maximum will be available for $4.99 in the Windows Phone Marketplace tomorrow. Be sure to download the free trial and try it out.
