Barnes & Noble Downgrades Nook Tablet to Compete With Amazon
According to a leaked document cited by The Verge, Barnes & Noble are preparing a re-launch of their Nook Tablet on February 22. This time, the Nook comes with 8GB of storage capacity that aims to compete directly with Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Currently, the 16GB Nook Tablet is sold for $249, which is $50 more than the 8GB Kindle Fire. Things (and price) should change in just two days.
Walmart will start selling the Nook 8GB Tablet on Wednesday at 12.01 AM and no details are available regarding any other changes that might come with it. The current 16GB Nook Tablet runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and incorporates a 7-inch display, 1024 x 600 resolution, Wi-Fi, 1GHz TI OMAP4 (dual-core) processor with 1GB RAM and a microSD expansion slot.
