The LG Optimus VU popped up two weeks ago showing off its uncommon screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio which we’ve later on seen pictured side-by-side with the Samsung Galaxy Note, a 5.3-incher with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The South Korean manufacturer went public and unveiled the LG Optimus VU to the world, a device which will be definitely showcased at the upcoming MWC together with the X3, CX2 and probably the Miracle. The LG Optimus VU is 8.5mm thick and packs a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, five-inch IPS screen with XGA resolution (768 x 1024 pixels), 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, eight-megapixel main shooter, 1.3-megapixel webcam, all the sensors and communication radios, 2,080mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with Ice Cream Sandwich coming shortly).

South Koreans can expect the phone in early March on both SK Telecom and LG U+ while the rest of the world will probably receive details about pricing and availability at next week’s MWC.
