Is HTC Working On A Streaming Music Service?
Edge/Endeavor, Ville, Supreme and Quattro are just a couple of device names rumored to see the light of day at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It looks like it will not be only about devices as recent rumors are talking about HTC and its alleged streaming music service.
A streaming service, which will be offered as a default music client on upcoming HTC phones and tablets, is what HTC is believed to prepare for the show. The Taiwanese phone and tablet maker recently got in a partnership with Beats Audio to bring higher-quality headphones to HTC smartphone customers.
Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope-Geffen-A&M and co-founder of Beats Audio, is said to have an important role in HTC’s future plans for the streaming music service. There are already a couple of offerings for Android and Windows Phones, like Spotify and Zune, which can bring music to the masses. If the rumors turn out to be true, it will be interesting to see HTC’s take on music streaming.
