iOS Google+ Catches-Up to Mobile Web, Android Versions

Just about a week ago, we saw Google deliver an update to the Android version of its Google+ app, bringing the software up-to-date with recent changes to the mobile web edition of the service. When Google first made those adjustments, back in mid-January, it had said that the same functionality would be introduced to all its native Google+ apps; today, it makes good on its word, updating the iOS edition to fall in-line.

Unfortunately, Google doesn’t claim to bring the same “massive performance improvements” to the iOS version as it just did for Android, but Apple fans will see the introduction of some new features, all the same. Now when you click on the count of +1s a post has received, you’ll be able to see just who voted it up. There’s also the introduction of the new What’s Hot display, showing you what popular topics are currently trending across the service. Finally, the iOS version of Google+ plus gets support for instant uploads, automatically storing photo and video you take on Google’s servers.

Google+ 1.0.9.4278 is available for the iPhone and iPad in Apple’s App Store currently.
