Google Preparing Its Own Cloud Storage Offering: Report

DropBox, even though a popular cloud storage offering widely used among Android owners (and not only), might be a thing of the past for many (though its latest beta iteration brings you five gigabyte of free storage). Google is preparing to kick off its next offering which will bring cloud storage to the masses.

According to recent reports, the Google cloud drive will be landing shortly, in the coming weeks/months, for users to store all their pictures, videos, music and documents online. With YouTube for videos, Picasa for pictures, Google Music for audio and the upcoming Google Cloud, the Mountain View-based company is preparing to offer both free storage as well as an extended solution with a monthly plan for those who need more space. Expect it to launch together with an Android application; however, Google I/O could shed some more light on the Google cloud though we hope it will not be that far out (June 27-29, 2012).
