Apple Working To Fix iTunes Match Bug That Censores Music
According to recent reports, Apple’s iTunes Match — the service which replaces your lower-quality music files with high-quality copies from iTunes — is replacing songs containing explicit lyrics with new copies of better quality… and clean lyrics. Most probably the system is unable to tell the difference between tracks with same length, same tag but which are different in content (explicit versus clean).
Apple is already looking to fix the problem according to reports; according to an email allegedly sent from an Apple employee in response to a user, “Apple is currently investigating the issue and working on a fix”. The email also states that there is no workaround at the moment so if you have songs in your library that contain explicit lyrics we recommend you keep those away from iTunes Match, at least until a fix is confirmed.
