RIM Waiting For Playbook Android App Submissions By February 6

The BlackBerry Playbook OS 2.0 is expected this month — on February 17 according to some rumors — after the world saw a demo at CES complete with the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps built-in (which will allow Android apps to run on the Playbook as well as BlackBerry 10 devices after developers repackage the applications).

Developers will have to submit their packaged and signed Android apps by Monday, February 6th, 2012, in order for them to be available in the BlackBerry App World when BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2 comes out. Aside from Android apps, the BlackBerry Playbook OS 2 will also bring support for native email, contacts, and calendar.

If you are a developer you need to know that the apps you will submit must not contain the word “Android” (this goes for both the application as well as the description), must not contain Android Market links, and generally have to follow a couple of guidelines outlined in the blog post below.
