Samsung GT-i9070 Breaks Cover As Galaxy S Advance (Update)

The original Samsung Galaxy S was wearing model numers i90xx while the manufacturer assigned the i91xx range for the second iteration, the Galaxy S II. The device pictured above is reportedly the GT-i9070, dubbed Samsung Galaxy S Advance.

It looks to be a refresh of some sort for the original Galaxy S; the specs are a slight improvement over the GT-i9000 (but still lower than the Galaxy S II). The Galaxy Advance is believed to feature a 1GHz dual-core processor, four-inch Super AMOLED display of WVGA resolution and curved glass, five-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording capability, 1,500mAh battery, and Android 2.3.6.

Samsung is expected to announce the above Galaxy S Advance at the upcoming Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona complete with a redesigned outer aspect to go with the internal updates.

Update: It looks like we don’t have to wait until MWC for the official unveiling of the Galaxy S Advance. The manufacturer made the phone official. The complete specs include the 1GHz dual-core processor, 768MB of RAM, four-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display with curved design, five-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 8GB and 16GB internal memory variants with microSD card slot extension, FM Radio, and 1500mAh battery.
