Nokia made its Q4 2011 financial numbers public and the company is reporting a solid fourth and closing 2011 quarter performance. Q4 net sales are around $13.6 billion (EUR 10.0 billion) and 2011 2011 net sales reported are roughly $50.96 billion (EUR 38.7 billion).

There were 19.6 million smartphones that Nokia managed to sell in the last quarter compared to 28.6 million the year before. However, Nokia shifted its principal strategy to adopt Windows Phone back in February of last year.

Out of the 19.6 million smartphones sold in Q4 2011, Nokia sold “well over 1 million” Lumia devices “to date”. The Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800 were both introduced at the end of October which really leaves less than two months for the company to achieve the “well over 1 million” number (or is it “to date”?)

Espoo is off to a good start in 2012. As Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 sales are growing — phones becoming available in additional markets — Nokia is continuing to introduce new devices, like the Lumia 900 for AT&T, expected to have a European variant of some sort.
