Being a user of Google services who also owns a Windows Phone handset may seem like a bit of heresy, but for for those of you who like to play both sides of the field like that, Google Sync provides some convenient tools for keeping things like Gmail and your Google Calendar up-to-date on your smartphone. This afternoon, Google announced some changes to Sync that aim to improve the user experience on phones running Mango.

If work has you juggling multiple Google accounts, Sync will now let you choose just which account’s calendar is used to update the schedule on your Windows Phone. Up until now, doing so required a hacky work-around. You probably won’t need so many, but Sync now supports up to 25 calendars. Similarily, the service now handles multiple accounts more gracefull when sending e-mails, letting you specify which custom address should be listed for replies. Finally, the scope of Sync’s search function has been expanded, now looking through remotely-stored content in addition to what’s been loaded on your phone.

If you’re interested in seeing the changes, head on over to m.google.com/sync from your Windows Phone.
