More BlackBerry 10 Hardware Predicted, Including QWERTY Models
This time last week we heard some rumors about RIM’s upcoming hardware lineup for the remainder of the year. Supposedly, that meant a couple lower-end Curves, a new PlayBook model or two, and the first BlackBerry 10 devices showing up around September. Today, there’s a new stab at that rumored roadmap that seeks to add to that story a little.
Those two Curves will reportedly be the 9230 and 9320. Keeping with the low-end claim, the 9230 will be an EDGE-only handset.
We’ve been wondering for some time if the so-called BlackBerry London we’ve seen in pics is an actual phone ultimately meant for release, or if it was just a mock-up. According to the source behind this rumor, London is still on-track, and will be that BB10 model that shows up in September. Then later, right before the end of the year, we’d supposedly see a new BB10 Bold model, keyboard and all. After hearing that the Milan was canceled, we were concerned with the fate of keyboards in RIM’s future; it looks like they’re not going anywhere. As for the Milan, that may be off the table, but another QWERTY slider may be in the works for a Q1 2013 release.
Finally, while we heard before about plans for a 10-inch LTE PlayBook in December, this May we could end up seeing a 1.5GHz, 42Mbps HSPA+ version arrive no word on screen size.
