ZTE Launch Event Shows-Off Tania for the UK
Just yesterday, we talked about ZTE and its plans for smartphone dominance. Its efforts making headway into the Windows Phone market have resulted in the Tania, the company’s first such handset on the platform. We’ve known about this model for some time now, as it appeared at trade shows months ago. Now we await the handset’s widespread availability, including its arrival in the UK, which we’ve heard tipped for mid-next-month. We’ve still got a few weeks to go there, but ZTE decided to introduce Tania to the country a little bit early, holding a launch event for the phone today.
This publicity is letting more people than ever get a chance to try-out the Tania, and what we’re hearing is generally positive. Initially, we had heard some concerns about the quality of the phone’s display, but today’s reports note a solid component that isn’t too far removed from its peers. On the other hand, the five-megapixel camera apparently leaves a bit to be desired, and the phone’s sparse 4GB storage space could rapidly become an issue for users who have yet to embrace the cloud.
ZTE has yet to release complete launch details, but from what we hear, the phone should be available on plans in the $15-$30 monthly range; cheaper, at least, than what we’re expecting for the Lumia 710.
