BlackBerry Curve 9370 Lands at Verizon

Back near the start of November, we saw a leaked Verizon roadmap that suggested RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 9370 would arrive on the carrier later that month. Supposedly on-target for November 17, the handset failed to materialize as expected. Now, two months later, the smartphone is finally getting its shot, with Verizon starting sales of the Curve 9370 today.

We were hoping to see the 9370 come to Verizon with a price around $80, considering what the 9350 was going for on Sprint. Unfortunately, things are going to be a little more expensive on Big Red, with an on-contract price of about $100. To be fair, at least, the 9370 is some slightly-more-capable hardware, able to roam GSM networks internationally. It’s also pretty affordable off-contract, fetching just over $400.

The Curve 9370 definitely isn’t the hardware to go with if you’re looking for a high-end BlackBerry smartphone experience, hampered by its behind-the-times 800MHz processor and low-resolution 480×360 2.4-inch display. Still, it’s got BlackBerry OS 7.0 (soon to get 7.1), so it might make sense if you’re interested in running the latest software, even if that’s without the power of a 9900 in your hands.
